Estonishing Life is taking a look at what challenges people are facing during the worldwide crisis – and how we could all come stronger out of this.
For this event, we have invited the following experts to offer best advice, tips and techniques on how to stay mentally well-balanced:
– Elina Kivinukk, a psychologist at NGO PeaAsi
– Kertu Rummel, a music therapist at the Centre of Music Therapy
– Eduardo Torres, a philosopher
Besides the theoretical part, everyone is welcome to participate in practical exercises in small groups and get to know each other in the process.
The event will take online via Zoom.
The project “Supporting the adaptation of newly arrived foreigners” is funded by the European Social Fund and by the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Estonia.
Speakers
-
Eduardo Torres
philosopher
Eduardo Torres born and raised in Mexico and moved to Estonia to study music and philosophy. After his degree from University of Tartu, he is currently working towards a PhD in Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin.
Eduardo works at the intersection of metaphysics and the philosophy of language, currently writing a dissertation on descriptive metaphysics, the study of the implicit categories and concepts of our talk and thought about the world. In short, trying to cast some light on how the way we ordinarily speak of– and think about— the world reflects our implicit views on the nature of reality itself.
